The Polish Eagle lands Gibraltar Darts Trophy title

Krzysztof Ratajski has claimed the Gibraltar Darts Trophy title on Sunday evening. He is the first Polish player to win a tournament on the PDC European Tour.

The former World Masters champion was unstoppable in the semi finals and the final during the final session. Ratajski defeated world number three Daryl Gurney with 109 average, before beating Dave Chisnall 8-2 in the final.

The Pole won eight legs on the spin, after becoming 2-0 down early on in the game. He leveled the game in the fourth leg with 124 and 63 checkouts, before two 12-dart legs and a 13-darter helped him to a 6-2 lead.

Chisnall missed chances to make 6-3 and The Polish Eagle punished him with a 74 finish. 'Chizzy' had one more chance to stay in the game, but missed his dart on double 20. Ratajski stepped in and took out 60 to win the title in Gibraltar.
