DRAW German Darts Championship 2025 | Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting and defending champion Peter Wright find out fate

The draw has been confirmed for the German Darts Championship 2025 which is the final tournament on the 2025 European Tour and takes place between Friday 17 - Sunday 19 October at Halle 39, a staple of the European Tour.
Albeit this year's German Darts Championship has suffered with many of the top names entered deciding to skip the event. Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson as well as Luke Littler have decided not to play. All are qualified for Dortmund though with qualification now closed for the European Championship making it pointless for some to attend.
Gerwyn Price leads the way though albeit not as top seed but as sixth seed and he will face the winner of Daryl Gurney vs Christian Kist on Saturday night in Hildesheim. Top seed is Stephen Bunting who faces Ryan Joyce or Justin Hood in the second round.
Peter Wright will hope for a similar run to last year when he won the title. He faces Ricardo Pietreczko or Radek Szaganski in the second round as the German crowd get ready to welcome Pikachu back with the German events being few and far between as of late. Martin Schindler the same who due to withdrawals is now 13th seed. He faces Andrew Gilding or William O'Connor.

Second seed is James Wade. He faces Jermaine Wattimena or Keane Barry. Jonny Clayton could take on Raymond van Barneveld in a top second round tie. The other standouts include potential clashes between Mike de Decker and Wessel Nijman as well as Rob Cross v Cameron Menzies. Josh Rock could also tussle with either Ricky Evans or Joe Cullen in a tie either way that will be quick and appealing on the eye.
Nathan Aspinall is not a seed and will face Ross Smith potentially in another second round dustup. Damon Heta, Gian van Veen, Chris Dobey, Dave Chisnall and Ryan Searle are also among the seeds in Hildesheim as we head towards the busiest portion of the season.
For many of the top names, this event will be skipped for good reason with the European Championship to follow as well as Grand Slam of Darts, Players Championship Finals and of course the PDC World Darts Championship with ProTours also in between so there is little room for manoeuvre. But will a top name who does attend this weekend win or will it be another Niko Springer type story?

The Players Championship is in my opinion the hardest title to win, 30 odd tournaments with the top 128 and you have to finish in the top 64 to have a chance of the trophy. - Outside of the Players possibly likely to be included, the PDC and the pissed up punters does anyone really care about the Premier League? Noppert may be consistent in getting to latter stages but cannot recall him winning anything as yet this year. Premier League is still an exhibition event and a promotional tool so just being a good player really is not good enough if your outside the top four in the rankings thats why dour Dobey brings nothing and unfortunately Danny Noppert does not have much off a personality on the oche either.Mysstree14-11-2025
- beating price and rock isn't really luck is it, especially given he made the quarters the two previous years as well. dominated the pro tour last year as well, he was hardly the most dubious of the premier league picks, had a better case than aspinall and price did if we're going purely by merit rather than personality. i think everyone knows he won't get in next year's so you aren't really arguing against anybody on that front.colt14-11-2025

- The Germans and the Dutch are far worse when they play each other. What is your opinion about that? The big money is in England and that is where most of the events will stay. Not forgetting, MVG is quite repugnant - at times. There is huge bias for English players - due to the fact that this event is being played in England. - While i do not think dart players should be paid a wage or even expenses it is ludicrous that you get nothing for turning up on the Pro Tour and losing in the first round whereas the officials are being paid a wage. Should have left the World Champion prize money at £500k and split the other £500k down the ranks. A side note to this. Would not surprise me the reason that Warriner Little and Chris Mason are not being retained for TV coverage is because of their support and backing to the players.Mysstree05-11-2025
