The
European Tour season will conclude with the
German Darts Championship 25 in Hildesheim from Oct. 17 to 19, 2025. The German city will play for a prize pool of 175,000 pounds, of which 30,000 will go to the eventual winner.
The German Darts Championship is one of the longest-running Euro Tour tournaments. In the debut year of the PDC European Tour in 2012, this event was already part of the calendar. Then it was Phil Taylor who managed to take the title in Berlin. As of 2013, the German Darts Championship will take place at Halle 39 in Hildesheim.

Besides Taylor, the list of honorees includes Dave Chisnall (2013), Gary Anderson (2014), Michael van Gerwen (2015, 2018 and 2022), Alan Norris (2016), Peter Wright (2017 and 2024), Daryl Gurney (2019), Devon Petersen (2020) and Ricardo Pietreczko (2023).
Luke Littler is missing from this year's German Darts Championship as are former world champions Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen. But Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting and Peter Wright have signed up, as have such top players as James Wade, Jonny Clayton and Josh Rock.
As for the
prize money, there are serious sums waiting in Hildesheim. The winner goes home with 30,000 pounds, but there are also good rewards for the rest. The finalist gets 12,000 pounds, semi-finalists earn 8,500 and those who reach the quarter-finals get 6,000. Even a place in the third round earns £4,000. Those who die in the second round take 2,500, while players who already fail in the first round still receive 1,250. The total thus comes to 175,000 pounds.
Placed players who immediately lose their first match in the second round will receive prize money but the amount won will not count toward the various rankings. The exception is players who qualify through the qualifiers and later advance to a seeded position due to a cancellation. Their prize money will then count toward the Order of Merits.
The German Darts Championship represents another great testing point for the top players, as we are now in the period when the majors follow each other in rapid succession. The stakes are not only a cup and £30,000, but also important ranking points in a phase of the season where every arrow counts.
