Draw Grand Slam of Darts 2024: Intrigue as Van Gerwen, Anderson and Van Leuven set for headline Group G

The draw for the group stage of the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts has been announced. Three-time tournament winner Michael van Gerwen has landed in a group with Noa-Lynn van Leuven.
Van Gerwen and Van Leuven will also tussle with Gary Anderson and Ryan Joyce are the other two players in Group G.
Michael Smith and Mike de Decker will face Jermaine Wattimena and Mensur Suljovic in Group E. Cameron Menzies and two-time women's world champion Beau Greaves headline another group in the group stage alongside Martin Schindler and Danny Noppert.
Luke Humphries is the defending champion at the Grand Slam of Darts and has been put in Group A as the number one seed. In it, he was joined by James Wade, Mickey Mansell and Rowby-John Rodriguez. Teenage sensation Luke Littler will make his debut at this major tournament. 'The Nuke' will do so against Dimitri van den Bergh, Keane Barry and Lourence Ilagan.
Group C consists of two former world champions with Rob Cross and Peter Wright. In addition, this group consists of Martin Lukeman and Leonard Gates. Group D contains Dave Chisnall, Ross Smith, Ritchie Edhouse and Connor Scutt.
Gian van Veen, Wessel Nijman, Stephen Bunting and Josh Rock can even be called in advance the group of death in Group G with top young talents meeting 'The Bullet'.
The Grand Slam of Darts 2024 will take place from Saturday, Nov. 9, to Sunday, Nov. 17. On the first four days, the group stage will be completed. The top two players from each group will advance to the knockout phase.

- Not a Dobey fan at all but it’s bizarre that the winner of 3 Players Championship rounds does not qualify ahead of any runner up. The GSOD seems to be going the same way as footballs Champions League with a lot of non winners. The old football European Cup was a tournament of winners. GSOD should be for winners only and by tournament prestige and if it’s ranked. Not enough players or multiple event winners then add winners of the big invitationals such as the Premier League and WSOD.Mysstree02-11-2024
