Durrant claims deciding leg win over Clemens to reach Grand Slam of Darts Quarter-Finals

Glen Durrant is the next player through to the Quarter-Finals at the Grand Slam of Darts after victory over Gabriel Clemens.

Durrant did not lead at all for 18 legs but timed his comeback to perfection to claim victory 10-9 over the impressive German.

Clemens missed big 11 on a 121 checkout and Durrant returned to hit double 10 to get off the mark and trail 3-1 but in the early going, it was all the German.

'Duzza' though brought himself back into proceedings with a 132 checkout on the bull to trail 3-2. He made it 3-3 with an 87 checkout but Clemens ended up regaining the lead with a 110 checkout.

He claimed a break of throw with a third maximum and a 66 finish en route to make it 5-3 and at the break, he regained a two-leg cushion at 6-4 up.

It was firm control for Clemens as he took out 106 to lead 7-4 but despite that it wasn't all over yet as Durrant made it three straight legs to square it up at 7-7.

'The German Giant' stopped the rot to hit a 12-darter and an 8-7 lead and then he went 9-8 up after Durrant missed a 164 checkout to get himself further back into it.

He missed one dart at tops for the match and Durrant sent it all the way. It ended up being a brilliant win for Durrant as he timed it to utter perfection to claim victory in the deciding leg.
