Glen Durrant won through a tough battle with Danny Baggish on Monday evening last on as the Premier League champion survived a comeback to win 4-2.
Durrant spoke afterwards and despite being embroiled in a game, the feeling is that he is back in business.
"I was just thinking be nice 4-0, get off. I felt good but I think that game was really good for me. I had everything, I had good darts. I felt really tense in the end which I'll probably need and I feel like I'm back," said Durrant post match.
"I feel fit, I feel strong. I've just lost an awful lot of confidence and sometimes you can play yourself into a little bit of confidence. That's what I was thinking up there. He's a terrific player, I thought for two or three sets where are you, I knew he was going to come at me but I did what I do best."
On whether he would retire if he won the World Championship, he believes he would and that he only ever wants to be a one time World Champion.
"I was laid watching about three o clock today and Laura Woods is interviewing me and I've just beaten Gerwyn Price in the final. Yeah I think I would retire. I might have a lap of honour and have a year on the circuit but I don't think I would be a two time PDC World Champion, three time. I think if I won the PDC World Championship it would be one time only. I'm a three time Lakeside champion and I want to be a one time PDC World Champion."
