Gerwyn Price saw off Brendan Dolan surviving a scare to reach the Last 16 at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship.
Price spoke afterwards and praised 'The History Maker' for a brilliant display which went all the way to sudden death.
"I put myself under a little bit of pressure I think. On my throw and on my sets I thought I was quite comfortable and then every time I was trying too hard against the throw when it was Brendan's throw. Fair play to him on his sets, he was fantastic and I tried my best to break him and try and get that set off him but he was just pinging out those last darts especially when I'm 3-2 up in 2-2 in legs, he pinged out 104," said Price post match.
He also discussed Peter Wright exiting out of the tournament as well as his next opponent Mervyn King who has spoke about his dislike for over celebrating as of late.
"Whoever's left in the tournament has a great opportunity to win this event and whether Peter is in it or Michael's in it, everyone can still win it and I didn't really look at Peter. I wasn't going to see him till the semi-finals and I'd be a fool to look that far forward."
"I'll go up there and be myself, whoever I play. I played him in one of the Series and beat him 6-0, I think that was because he was beating himself up that I was celebrating on a ProTour. I get on really well with Merv but on the stage I'm happy to do a job."
