His day wasn't all smooth sailing though with a late defeat to Mark Webster providing late hope for the former Lakeside champion. 'Webby' lost his penultimate game against Scott Mitchell 5-4 and he needed a 5-2 win or better against Adam Huckvale but lost 5-1 to 'Bad Medicine' in the end.

This also meant that Mike Warburton finished second on leg difference only just and Scott Mitchell was just behind also on six points.
