Emotional Whitlock after achieving darting destiny at World Cup of Darts: “I have dreamt about this moment my entire life”

Ten years on from missing match darts to win the World Cup of Darts, Simon Whitlock finally sealed it on Sunday night in an emotional win for Australia.

Damon Heta sealed the win after Whitlock missed a match dart again in the pairs and as well as discussing how ecstatic he was to seal the title, he also was full of praise for his partner.

“It is life-changing. I have dreamt about this moment my entire life and I’ve finally got there,” said an emotional Whitlock.

“It feels amazing. I had a great partner. Damon has been amazing. He’s a great friend, and he’s the best player on the planet right now. He is going to be the next world champion.”
