End of an Era: Jermaine Wattimena cuts ties with manufacturer after eleven year partnership

After eleven years, the partnership between Jermaine Wattimena and Bull's has come to an end. The 38-year-old Dutchman, who made his entire rise within the PDC with the German darts brand as sponsor and dart supplier, is taking a new path. Both Bull's and Wattimena announced the news on Friday via Instagram.

Wattimena made his World Darts Championship debut eleven years ago and has qualified for the sport’s flagship event every year since. As a result, “The Machine Gun” has become a mainstay at the highest level.

He currently sits seventeenth on the PDC Order of Merit and, earlier this month, stood on the brink of the biggest title of his career. At the Euro Tour in Leverkusen, he reached the final, where he ultimately had to bow to Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski.

Wattimena achieved all those successes with Bull's at his side. The Dutch darts brand looks back on the partnership with great pride. “After 11 unforgettable years, it’s time to say goodbye to a true member of the BULL'S family,” the company wrote on Instagram. Bull's then reflected at length on the development Wattimena has undergone in recent years.

“Jermaine, thank you for wearing the BULL'S shirt with pride, passion, and unwavering determination. Over the past ten years, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing your incredible journey—from earning your PDC Tour Card to becoming one of the best players in the world. Together we celebrated unforgettable milestones: your first major final at the European Championship, multiple ProTour titles, countless deep runs on the biggest stages, and the tireless fighting spirit that has earned you the respect of fans and players around the world.”

Wattimena himself also marked the farewell. In an Instagram Story, he thanked his now former sponsor for the long-standing cooperation. “Thank you, Bull's, for eleven years of tremendous support. I’m grateful to have been part of the amazing team. Now it’s time for a new adventure.”

Where that new adventure will take him remains unknown for now. Wattimena has not yet revealed which brand he will continue his career with. Given his current position in the world rankings and his strong form in recent months, there will undoubtedly be significant interest from various manufacturers.

For Bull's, Wattimena’s departure marks the exit of another big name from its roster. The company, based in Westland, has been among the most renowned Dutch darts brands for decades. Since starting its own dart production in 1984, Bull's has worked with numerous Dutch top players. Among others, Raymond van Barneveld, Roland Scholten, Co Stompé, Bert Vlaardingerbroek, and Dirk van Duijvenbode have played with the brand’s equipment during their careers.

With the end of the partnership, Bull's and Wattimena close a successful period in which both parties grew together. For the thrower from Westervoort, a new chapter now begins, while darts fans will keenly await the announcement of his new sponsor.
