Owen Bates threw a bizarrely high average on the PDC Development Tour on Friday. In his match at the last sixteen, he recorded an average of 120.24, equaling the highest match average of 2023 on the PDC circuit. Earlier this year, Bradley Brooks also threw an average of 120.24.
Thanks to this fantastic average, Bates made short work of his Northern Irish opponent Nathan Rafferrty in four legs and qualified for the quarter-finals.
He threw an 11-darter in the first leg and then came up with a 12-darter in the second. Bates decided the third leg in 14 arrows before ending the match with a 13-darter.
