"Enjoying my days off with the family": Van Gerwen enjoys holiday with wife and kids in Ibiza after World Series snub

Michael van Gerwen was conspicuous by his absence in the Down Under doubleheader on the World Series of Darts over the past few weeks. The Dutchman had been invited to the events but decided against an appearance.

Instead of competing in the New Zealand Darts Masters and the New South Wales Darts Masters, 'Mighty Mike' has been relaxing, taking in the sunshine and enjoying some much-needed family time on the Spanish island of Ibiza.

"Summer time!" Van Gerwen captions a post to his official Twitter account, giving his fans an update with pictures of himself and his family in picturesque locations. "Enjoying my days off with the family in Ibiza!"

After needing dental and jaw surgery and missing the World Cup of Darts, Michael van Gerwen has been wearing braces and even admitted back in July "I might not look or sound the same for a little while." As such, this rest and recuperation in the Mediterranean sun will have surely been a welcome break for the phenomenal Dutchman.
