Entries confirmed for Players Championship 31-32: Pressure ramps up as Littler, Van Gerwen and Aspinall face last gasp Minehead bid

The entries for Players Championship events 31 and 32 have been confirmed, with just one member of the top 100 not making the journey to the Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan to compete in the penultimate double-header of the year.

Just four events remain for certain players to confirm their spots in the Players Championship Finals, with some big names not yet confirmed to feature. Not just that, but certain darters with tour card and World Championship ambitions will have the pressure looming over them to clinch a positive result.

In the race to Minehead, Luke Littler, Nathan Aspinall, and Michael van Gerwen are all adrift of the top 64 places which would grant you entry into the major event. While Littler and Aspinall remain a short amount of money behind, there is a lot of work to do for the seven-time champion, with the Dutchman at risk for not qualifying for the first time in his career.

Aside these three, Wigan will play host to almost all of the top ranked players, including Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton, and Gary Anderson, among others. Ryan Searle, Ross Smith, and Wessel Nijman all truimphed in the prior three events in Leicester, and will be hoping for more of the same. The only player who will not participate inside the top 100 is Andrew Gilding, who sits 28th and almost £20k above the cut-off line. 

Gilding, Kai Gotthardt, Pero Ljubic, Michele Turetta, Jules van Dongen, Tim Wolters, and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez are the tour card holders not competing. They will be replaced by Darius Labanauskas, Stefan Bellmont, Ted Evetts, Jamai van den Herik, Scott Waites, Alexander Merkx, and Danny van Trijp.

The tournaments will commence at 13:00 BST on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October, with the champion taking home £15,000.
