Entries Players Championship 15-16: Van Gerwen leads as Anderson, Littler, Price, Humphries skip again

Taking place between 12-13 May, Players Championship 15-16 will see of the sport's biggest names compete for the £15,000 top prize. The tournaments will see a field of 128 players compete for the latest ProTour titles.

Albeit as ever, many of the top names have decided not to bother with Luke Litter continuing his exile for the whole of the ProTour season thus far. But albeit while it's not in Hildesheim, the big names have decided against playing in Leicester despite it being a week with no European Tour.

Gary Anderson who is usually a stalwart of these tournaments has decided against playing, the same can be said albeit for only one event for Chris Dobey who alongside Wessel Nijman has utterly dominated. But given he has done enough likely to make Minehead already, he is taking a break for one of the events.

While Joe Cullen also does the same for PC16. Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price from the Premier League line-up also do with Price waiting on some results to come in during the next few weeks from a hospital visit so is taking some time off despite the fact that he was annoyed about stop start darts due to only playing Premier League.

Also absent are Mike de Decker, Matthias Ehlers and Scott Williams - the latter could spell danger as he's not yet qualified for the World's and is skipping the ProTour again. Joe Hunt, Derek Coulson, Tommy Lishman, Daniel Ayres, Tommy Morris, Christopher Wickenden, Nathan Potter, Jack Tweddell, Harry Ward (PC16 only), Martijn Dragt (PC16 only) come in.

Michael van Gerwen, Josh Rock, Gian van Veen, Stephen Bunting and Jonny Clayton though alongside ProTour juggernaut Wessel Nijman will play though as most of the Premier League line-up aside from the leading trio will play.
