Van Gerwen, the defending champion in the event will take on Krzysztof Ratajski; 'The Polish Eagle' went into a 4-0 lead and had to survive a late comeback from Adrian Lewis.
'Mighty Mike' looked brilliant earlier in seeing off Mensur Suljovic; in what was a repeat of their final in Vienna and will hope for similar when he takes on Ratajski later.
Cross against Dave Chisnall will follow; 'Voltage' only just edged past Daryl Gurney earlier and could be in a real game against the St Helens ace who has had a brilliant weekend so far.
Jonny Clayton against James Wade follows, both players have their Last 16 ties in common with both surviving comebacks from their opponents but like the other ties, it will likely be close.
Finally it is Joe Cullen versus Glen Durrant. Like Clayton before him it is a big weekend in terms of form and future seedings for European Tour tournaments with both players having their best run for a while.
Durrant though played brilliantly earlier against Gerwyn Price, he hit a 110 average in a 6-3 win and will look for the same against Cullen as he aims to reach the Semi-Finals for the first time on a European Tour.
