European Q-School Final Stage Order of Merit after Day Three

The penultimate day of action at European Q-School is complete with Florian Hempel joining the PDC Tour for the first time alongside returnee, Geert Nentjes and fellow debutant but former World Trophy winner, Geert de Vos.

But with one more day to go before the Tour Card holders are fully confirmed, the Order of Merit has been updated.

Currently sitting well placed at the top of the standings are Martin Schindler who leads Zoran Lerchbacher by a solitary leg but with both on eight points. Both are seemingly likely to gain Tour Cards no matter what tomorrow.

Boris Koltsov is seemingly on the verge also sitting on seven points. While not fully confirmed, a point or two tomorrow would mean it would be secure for the Russian who will finally make his PDC Tour debut as a Tour Card holder.

While Raymond van Barneveld is currently fourth helped partly by Florian Hempel winning today, a first round exit earlier to Stefan Bellmont has derailed the five-time World Champion ever so slightly.

An early exit tomorrow could see him anxiously looking over his shoulder especially if today's results are anything to go by.

John Michael is level with him while Luc Peters, Niels Zonneveld and Lorenzo Pronk occupy the final positions. For the initial trio, they all had superb days and find themselves in Tour Card spots.

But with the likes of Kevin Doets who reached the latter stages today as well as capable operators in Gino Vos, Richard Veenstra, Michael Unterbuchner and Mario Vandenbogaerde among a large contingent on four points just outside, a Barney exit could spell trouble for the doyen of Dutch darts.

As a result tomorrow not only sees the battle for an outright Tour Card but the always interesting conclusion to the Order of Merit. Who will take their place on the PDC ProTour?
