Evans battles back from set down to defeat Mansell and faces Van Gerwen in Third Round

Ricky Evans will face off against Michael van Gerwen in the Third Round of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after defeating Mickey Mansell in a 3-1 win.

Evans recovered from a set down to defeat Mansell and claim a spot in the Last 32 with six 180's and two ton-plus finishes.

He had to recover from a poor start as he averaged only 78 and Mansell as a result cruised to the opening set 3-1. But from there, he produced a good response to seal the second set 3-1 with his average going up to 88.7 and this proved the catalyst for 'Rapid Ricky'.

This was increased even further as he made it six out of the previous seven legs won with a 110 average in the third set as he looked to complete the comeback.

A sixth 180 and a 104 checkout moved him to the verge of victory and he claimed it from there to see off the 'Clonoe Cyclone'.
