Evans claims consecutive wins over Jenkins and Nijman, Webster edges past Van Barneveld

Evans started off with a clinical display to whitewash Andy Jenkins 5-0 hitting a 97.6 average in the process. The latter who started the day superbly against Mark Webster averaging just below 100 averaged 89 but just couldn't hit his stride on the doubles missing all nine attempts.

This allowed 'Stretch' clear who hit two 180's alongside 38 percent on his doubles and he followed that up two matches later by defeating the man of the moment, Wessel Nijman.

Nijman wasn't defeated at all up till today but suffered a second defeat of the day at the hands of Evans who won 5-4 once again averaging towards 100 at 95. The former also played his part and could have won it missing two darts at doubles in the decider.

Before that, Mark Webster also got up and running today on his return to the tournament defeating Raymond van Barneveld 5-3 with 5/8 on the doubles with a 92 average and a high checkout of 112 to stop the charge of the Dutch legend who claimed his first win of the week earlier on.
