David Evans has claimed victory in the latest MODUS Icons of Darts League with maximum points.

Evans guaranteed it with a game to spare after defeating Ritchie Edhouse 5-4 with a 99 average to make it four wins in a row.
From there, he made it maximum points by seeing off Mark Webster with a 5-1 win with a 98 average and 5/6 on the doubles.
This came after wins over Mike Warburton (5-3), Scott Mitchell (5-2) and then Andy Jenkins (5-1) to set up the winning position.
There will be 15 games a day which will be best of 9 legs with two Pools set to be involved as usual. It begins everyday as a result at 10:30 am running till 5:00 pm and sees live action continue.
The scores are recorded during matches via a webcam with this then uploaded to various scoring services and bookmakers who are all showing the action. The livestream is provided by organiser MODUS .

- I love Jonny but I disagree. The Grand Slam was always supposed to be "champion of champions" type competition. If the top 16 are guaranteed participation in everything there will be so much less jeopardy involved in qualifying and each major tournament will lose its unique flavour which the PDC has worked hard trying to develop. I enjoy following the qualification races towards the end of the year, and while consistency should have its rewards, the truth is Jonny hasn't reached a major final all year or won a single event on the Pro Tour. Being consistent is one thing, but that alone should have consequences as the sport's elite should not be prepared to accept consistently strong performances, their foremost motivation should be to win and this should be what separates them from the rest, not the consistency of their performances.
