Evans did it in style also smashing in the highest average of the tournament so far, a blistering 113.84 to see off Mike Warburton in a 5-0 win which saw him pin 100 percent of his doubles and show just how much of a quality operator he is.
Warburton didn't play badly averaging 90 but succumbed to the whitewash win with 'Stretch' not allowing him a single dart at double.
This came after for Wessel Nijman claimed six points to put the pressure on Evans but he answered it in brilliant fashion.
It was overall one of the best sessions in the A Night At The Darts series so far with Evans also overcoming Wessel Nijman (5-4), Kyle McKinstry (5-1) and Fallon Sherrock (5-4). The latter game in particular was brilliant.
Sherrock had been defeated by Wessel Nijman in a 5-3 win after the latter won five out of the last six legs from 2-0 down and despite the 25-year old being defeated by the eventual group winner, it was a really close affair.
Evans had to survive a match dart from Sherrock in the decider before the former came back and clinically took out 87 on the bull to edge through. Sherrock averaged 93 and was so unlikely to not claim the scalp of the overall leader.
