Evans claims victory over Burnett to win PDC Challenge Tour Event Six

David Evans was in the winners' circle joining earlier winner, Keane Barry to conclude the first day back of PDC Challenge Tour action at the Barnsley Metrodome.

Evans won Event Six and his first since 2018 with victory over former Lakeside World Champion, Richie Burnett in a deciding leg in the final.

He showed some excellent form throughout the event hitting three consecutive ton plus averages in defeating James Richardson, Eddie Lovely and Scott Mitchell.

'Stretch' who was one of the busiest players during lockdown as part of the MODUS Icons of Darts League showed that this was pivotal in winning through on Friday evening.

As a result, Evans currently sits fourth going into Saturday just behind Keane Barry in third as he aims to chase Matthew Dennant and Scott Mitchell for a Tour Card and World Championship spot.
