Evans imperious on doubles during victory over Van den Bergh, West also through with impressive win over Hughes

Ricky Evans and Steve West are the first two players through from the evening session on Day 2 at the International Darts Open in Riesa.

Evans continued to show how good he is on the European Tour by edging out Dimitri van den Bergh with a 93 average. The most impressive part of his game though was his doubling where he hit 6/9 en route to victory.

West came from 2-0 down to defeat Jamie Hughes 6-3 also impressing on the doubles hitting 6/10 and winning five straight legs at one stage to claw it back. Overall it was a brilliant set of performances from 'Rapid' and 'Simply' who are both into the final day.
