Ted Evetts took the opening title of the return of the PDC UK
Development Tour. This event was the first of a total of six tournaments played this weekend.
Evetts saw off Nathan Rafferty 5-1 in the final. 'Super Ted' has previously seen off John Brown (4-1), Justin Smith (4-3), Jarred Cole (5-0) and Ben West (5-1) among others.
The 24-year-old Englishman now has fourteen titles won on the Development Tour. This makes him the most successful player ever on the PDC youth circuit.
Due to the corona pandemic, this circuit has been split into a separate tour for UK and European players. The Development Tour ranking is based on the prize money achieved.
At the end of the season, the winners of both rankings (European and British Development Tour) will receive an invitation to the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, the World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2022 and 2023.
