Fallon Sherrock, Mark Dudbridge, Richie Burnett out early in opening PDC UK Open Amateur Qualifier

The UK Open Amateur Qualifiers bookend the weekend of Challenge Tour action in Milton Keynes in the end of a long few weeks for those who attended all tournaments and Q-School. But for Fallon Sherrock, Mark Dudbridge and Richie Burnett, they will turn their attention to the second qualiifer.

Changing for this year, the qualifier sees Riley's not used anymore and instead two lots of qualifiers with the winners of each one and finalists getting through. Taking place on both January 20 and February 9.

There are 210 players competing in the first one with 256 being the cut off. The final four will be allocated from an Amateur Qualifiers Points Table with also general qualifiers happening at PDC in the Community Venues.

Some have decided to stick around to play after the Challenge Tour with Sherrock losing in the first round. She was defeated though by Tommy Lishman who is in the top 10 of the Challenge Tour after the opening weekend. Former World finalist Dudbridge also fell in the opener to Kevin Lowe.

While Karl Reynolds took care of Richie Burnett in the Last 128. Currently into the Last 64, the likes of David Pallett, Kevin Burness, Danny van Trijp, John O'Shea and Steve West remain in the reckoning. With these qualifiers being open to all, those who are of pedigree but don't have Tour Card can still enter. Richie Howson initially entered while Matthew Edgar confirmed he will play the second event.
