Tavis Dudeney captured a PDC Tour Card for the first time in his career at UK Q-School 2025. The 20-year-old Englishman won the tournament on the third day of the Final Stage. He is eagerly looking forward to his debut on the Pro Tour, but does not want to put too much pressure on himself.

Dudeney defeated Adam Paxton 6-4 in the final of the third tournament. "Words can't really explain it to be honest. I still don't think it's sunk in, even though there's been countless messages," he says in conversation with Tungsten Tales. "I think the minute it will sink in, will be that first Pro Tour event, walking in and just sort of glancing around the room and seeing the likes of Littler, Humphries, Van Gerwen and Anderson."

For Dudeney, the Tour Card did not come entirely as a surprise. "Saturday came, and I don't know what happened really, something just clicked and I just took chances I needed to take at the pressured moments," he recalls of his Q-School success. "I knew I had the game to win a Tour Card. But I just thought of trying not to go there with too much expectations. I didn't want to be trying to run before I could walk."

Immediately after obtaining his PDC Tour Card, another pleasant surprise awaited Dudeney, a message of congratulations from the current world champion Luke Littler. "His dad messaged me as well. I've known Luke for a long time and I've seen him sort of come through. So it's nice to see him do that and it will also be nice to be able to get another few games against him," he says. "We've spoken briefly since after that. I asked him how many Pro Tours is he looking at doing. Because I want to be able to spend a lot of time with him, just because we get along so well. I remember we would sit on FIFA until like 2/3 in the morning and yeah, it was nice."

Similarly to what brought him success at Q-School, in his first year as a Tour Card holder, Dudeney does not want to set himself too big goals. "I think for me, it's just try and take it step by step," he concludes. "I think the first step is winning that first game, getting that first win under my belt and then just kind of building on it from there. I know in myself I've got the game to consistently average mid 90s to a ton. I know I can do it and I think as long as I tell myself that, then it will be a massive help to myself."
