The dates have been confirmed
for the 2020/21
PDC World Darts Championship with the potential for fans to
descend on Alexandra Palace after the announcement earlier today regarding the
return of live sporting events with crowds from next month.
The showpiece tournament will
take place from December 15-January 3 with coverage as usual on Sky Sports
dedicated Darts Channel.
The 96-player tournament will
see players from all over the world playing for £2.5million in prize money and
the prestigious Sid Waddell trophy with 28 sessions of action for darting fans
to enjoy over the festive period.
The PDC will now be working
with Alexandra Palace after the aforementioned announcement to potentially get
fans to attend the event in person with ticket information set to be released
in due course if this is the case.
It will all begin with nine
days of action to begin from December 15 up until the Christmas break with the
first and second rounds on the agenda. Following that the action will resume
with the third and fourth rounds across four days between Christmas and the New
Year.
Play will recommence on
December 27 up until December 30 with the Quarter-Finals set to follow on New
Years Day.
Saturday January 2 and Sunday
January 3 will play host to the semi-finals and final in a new look to the
event this time around from it’s usual New Years Day conclusion.
