The new Euro Tour season is set to begin again this Friday. Like last year, the season opener will be in Wieze with a new edition of the Belgian Darts Open from March 7 to 9 in the Oktoberhallen.
The Belgian Darts Open 2025 features a field of 48 players. The top-16 players in the world rankings are seeded and enter the tournament from the second round. The top 16 Pro Tour players also received an invitation, but they must start the tournament from the first round.
Completing the lineup are sixteen winners from the various qualifying tournaments. This includes ten players who passed the qualifying tournament for Tour Card holders, as well as a Nordic & Baltic qualifier and an East Europe qualifier. Another qualifying tournament for Belgian players will be played on Wednesday, March 6, where the final four spots are confirmed.
The entire world's top players have signed up for the start of the new Euro Tour season. The field of competitors is led by world number one Luke Humphries, while Luke Littler is the number two seed. Littler managed to win the Belgian Darts Open on his Euro Tour debut last year. In the final against Rob Cross, "The Nuke" also caused a spectacle by throwing a nine darter.
Michael van Gerwen, Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, James Wade, Gary Anderson, Dimitri van den Bergh are some of the other players who are among the top-16 players on the seeding list. Much to the contention of players, Ross Smith, Ryan Searle, Josh Rock and Michael Smith also qualify but have to start on Friday.
The ten winners of the Tour Card qualifying tournament included Ryan Joyce, Thibault Tricole and Canadians Jim Long and Matt Campbell. Darius Labanauskas and Boris Krcmar won the other two qualifying tournaments already played.
The draw for the 2025 Belgian Darts Open pairs a Pro Tour qualifier with a player who has qualified through a qualifying tournament. The winner of that duel will face a top-16 player in the second round on Saturday. The third round is then completed on Sunday afternoon, before the conclusion takes place on Sunday evening with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final, respectively.
