The field has now been confirmed for the Brisbane Darts Masters which is set to take place from 9-10 August and is the third World Series event of the year.
Rob Cross is the defending champion having defeated Michael van Gerwen in the final of last year's event in a
brilliant comeback win. Cross is among the line-up for the event joining the aforementioned Van Gerwen; as well as the likes of Gary Anderson, Daryl Gurney and Peter Wright who are the usual five who are involved in these events.
Also added on to that James Wade, Simon Whitlock and Raymond van Barneveld will take their place. Wade and Van Barneveld will both be also involved in the German Darts Masters; as expected it will act as a farewell tour for 'Barney' in Australia and New Zealand.
As usual with these events in Australia, Corey Cadby and Kyle Anderson have both been given wildcards into the tournament. There was also spots through various qualifiers and Order of Merits.
In addition, Damon Heta who impressed last year in the
World Series returns as the DPA Number One; with James Bailey also familiar with these events coming in as the DPA Number Two. Both players have performed brilliantly all year on the circuit; so could be dangerous.
As could Haupai Puha who will come into these events also off good form but also a debut in the World Cup of Darts. He claimed victory in DPA Qualifier 1 and he will also be joined by Koha Kokiri and Brendan McCausland. The latter will be making his World Series debut.
Finally Ben Robb who replaced Corey Cadby last year in the Auckland Darts Masters debuts in an Australian World Series event. 'Big Rig' came through the DPNZ Qualifier for the event.
