An interesting statistic has been revealed after the last Players Championship double header with Krzysztof Ratajski and Brendan Dolan taking victory.

In these two finals though the statistic continued of four out of the last five Players Championship finals; being won by a player with a lower average.

The only final where this has not been the case as of late is Peter Wright's 8-1 win over Joe Cullen; which saw Wright average 105 compared to 92.64.

For example, in Ratajski's win over Van den Bergh he averaged 89.11 compared to 93.71 for the latter. Similar can be said about Dolan's win over Wattimena; with 94.59 compared to 96.29.

It will be interesting to see if this trend continues; as the season goes on in the Players Championship series in particular.
