Gerwyn Price captures sixth ranking title of the season with final win at Players Championship 29

Gerwyn Price emerged victorious Wednesday night in the 29th Players Championship tournament of the season. 'The Iceman' dealt with Dave Chisnall in the final match.

'The Iceman' had earlier in the day won over Jules van Dongen (6-4), Richie Burnett (6-0), Chris Dobey (6-5), Ricardo Pietreczko (6-4) Gian van Veen (6-1) and Damon Heta (7-4).
Opponent Chisnall defeated Krzysztof Kciuk (6-1), Simon Whitlock (6-1), Callan Rydz (6-3), Jamie Hughes (6-2), Maik Kuivenhoven (6-4) and Rob Cross (7-5) to qualify for the final of this tournament.
Price entered the final trailing 2-0 and 3-1, but then raced to take the initiative with a 12-darter and two 11-darters for a 5-3 lead. Chisnall then missed a chance to connect at 5-4 before Price threw out 66 for 6-3. The Welshman then also threw out 60 and 105 for an 8-3 victory over 'Chizzy'.
For Price, it is his fourth Players Championship title of the season, having previously been the best at Players Championship 17, 18 and 21. Furthermore, the former world champion also won two Euro Tour tournaments in 2023.

- I loved Jan and loved his walk on music "Explode" by Jordan & Baker. I think if he stuck around the BDO he definitely would have been World Champion, should have won in 2014, he never really showed any of his talent in the PDC. I remembered he worked in a bank or in finance and maybe that was his priority, he was also a fan and interested in magic. Definitely should have achieved much more in darts than he did. - This is exactly what I mean,littler survives the 1st round,I think you'll find a lot of other players did. Can you just report on the real sport,and not just 1 person. I like Luke,but this is getting boring now,as Kevin painter once said to Taylor!! The sport is about every player,not 1 who everyone seems to have put the sport on the map.,which he hasn't,he's just got in when the money is massive.
