Gerwyn Price claimed the sixth
Players Championship of the season in Leicester yesterday. “The Iceman” was far too strong for Andrew Gilding in the final, winning 8-1. Price maintained an impressively high level all day and secured the 22nd Players Championship title of his career.

Players Championship of the season once again delivered fireworks and high averages. Although Price closed with a superb tournament average of 104, the highest average did not belong to the 40-year-old Welshman.
Chris Dobey went just a touch better. “Hollywood” swept aside German Maximilian Czerwinski 6-0 in the last 64, averaging a remarkable 111.33.
Dobey eventually went out a round later, losing 6-4 to Dutchman Christian Kist.
Price’s impressive level by the numbers
Second, third, and fourth places on the average list at Players Championship 6 did go to Price. In his 6-1 win over Scott Waites in the last 16, Price posted a 109.48 average. He beat Kevin Doets 6-4 in the quarterfinals, averaging 108.59 in that match. In the second round, Dutchman Maik Kuivenhoven fell 6-1 as Price averaged 107.85.

The top five is completed by
Martijn Dragt. The Dutchman was too strong for Joe Hunt in the opening round, winning 6-2. Dragt averaged 107.24 in that match. After also defeating Gary Anderson a round later, he ultimately had to bow out 6-2 in the last 32 to eventual finalist Gilding.
The Players Championship now takes a break for just over a month and resumes on Monday, 03/30/2026, when the seventh tournament of the season is scheduled in Leicester.
