Gerwyn Price puts stop to Stephen Bunting and reaches yet another final at International Darts Open

Gerwyn Price will face Martin Schindler in the final of the International Darts Open. In the second semifinal, 'The Iceman' was too strong for Stephen Bunting, 7-5.

Price quickly held a 4-1 lead through three 14-darters. That lead disappeared quickly though due to a stunning 164 Bunting managed to throw out, rebalancing the score after eight legs.

A 13-darter put Price back in the lead before Bunting levelled the score via double 18. The Iceman then made it 6-5 with an 80 finish. Bunting then had five chances to force a deciding leg, but could not find the double. Price then threw out 60 for a place in the final.

The former world champion can win the tournament in Riesa for the fifth time. Price first won at the International Darts Open in 2018 by defeating Simon Whitlock (8-3) in the final. A year later, "The Iceman" was 8-6 too strong for Rob Cross in the final match. In 2022, Price once again pulled ahead, this time at the expense of Peter Wright (8-4). At the 2023 edition, Price triumphed 8-4 against Michael van Gerwen in the final.
