Gerwyn Price takes down Nathan Aspinall with late surge to reach European Championship Quarter-Finals

The first half of second round ties are close to completion at the 2023 European Championship with Gerwyn Price the latest name to seal a spot in the final day.

In a battle of players who both felt aggrieved by the schedule, it was Nathan Aspinall who will go home. He spoke about not bothering in Minehead qualification due to his partner, Kirsty turning 30.

Price too had to miss his daughters birthday in this case for Dortmund and will remain after sealing five straight legs.

From 5-5, Price eased through 10-5 winning five on the spin. He produced one of the best displays of the tournament in the process averaging 102 and hitting seven 180’s.

He turned the screw in particular at 7-5 and hit back-to-back 11 darters which proved to be catalysts as he surged to the win from there ending the run of Aspinall.
