Josh Rock has convincingly qualified for the last sixteen of the Czech Darts Open. 'Rocky' defeated Irishman William O'Connor 6-2 in the second round and will now face Michael van Gerwen.
Rock was satisfied afterwards, but also saw points to improve he admitted as he moved into the Last 16 at the Czech Darts Open. "Willie didn't play to his potential that I know he can. I haven't got a great record here so I was just happy to get that win over the line. But I have to be better than that."
Rock set the room ablaze with an amazing 101 finish via bull-1-bull. "I did, yeah (forget about it). In my head I was going 25, double-19, double-19, because I knew that’s the way I was going. I hit the bull, I went, I was lying perfect. I’ll go one bull, and then it obviously went in. So that wasn’t for show or anything, it was just lying a perfect way. Happy with the win but I need to perform better than I did."

MVG 112 average not a thought in the mind of Rock

For a place in the quarterfinals, Rock will take on Michael van Gerwen. The 36-year-old Dutchman particularly impressed in the previous round by defeating - helped by a 112+ average - Mike De Decker 6-0. "Yeah, good for him. I’ll play my game more, he’ll play his game more, and that’s what’s going to happen."
Rock was close to his first Euro Tour title of the year last week. However, in the final of the Flanders Darts Trophy, Luke Littler was too strong 8-7. The 24-year-old Northern Irishman has one title on the European Tour. Last year he won the Dutch Darts Championship. Or will a second title follow this weekend?
