Gotthardt, Wenig, Rupprecht, Horvat, Hopp and Springer clear after opening matches in PDC Europe Super League

On Tuesday, the PDC Europe Super League kicked off. A field of 24 German players are competing for one spot at the World Darts Championship this week. The participants have been divided into four groups of six players each and they will play each other twice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first five of 15 matches per pool were played on Tuesday. Kai Gotthardt and Lukas Wenig are still clear in Group A. Gotthardt recorded victories against Marco Obst (6-1) and Daniel Klose (6-3). Wenig proved too strong for Michael Hurtz (6-3) and Michael Klönhammer (6-3).

Pascal Rupprecht got off to an excellent start in Group B. The German was able to deal with Paul Krohne (6-4) and Marcel Gerdon (6-4). Krohne, Gerdon and Liam Maendl-Lawrance have won one match so far in this pool.

In Group C, Dragutin Horvat and Max Hopp started the pool clear. Horvat won 6-5 against Arno Merk and 6-0 against Franz Roetzsch. Hopp also triumphed 6-5 against Merk and also picked up a win against Dominik Gruellich.

Niko Springer is already on two wins in Group D by defeating Markus Kessler (6-1) and Rene Eidams (6-5). Manfred Bilderl, Nico Kurz and Eidams stand on one win.
