Greaves, Sherrock and Van Leuven lead battle for £25,000 prize money overall at Women's World Matchplay

On Sunday, July 27, the fourth edition of the Women’s World Matchplay takes center stage at the iconic Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Played out in a single day, the event brings together the top eight performers from the Women’s Series over the past 12 months to compete for a share of the £25,000 prize fund—and one of the most prestigious titles in the women’s game.

The elite field for 2025 features Beau Greaves, Noa-Lynn van Leuven, Fallon Sherrock, Lisa Ashton, Robyn Byrne, Gemma Hayter, Lorraine Winstanley and Kirsi Viinikainen.

All eight players are guaranteed a minimum of £1,250 for reaching the quarterfinals. A semi-final berth earns £2,500, the runner-up will pocket £5,000, and the tournament champion will walk away with a £10,000 top prize.

Heading into Blackpool, Beau Greaves is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy once again. Still only 21, ‘Beau ’n’ Arrow’ has already cemented her status as the dominant force in women’s darts. She is the reigning two-time champion, having won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, and has continued her form this season by claiming 10 Women's Series titles—more than double the tally (and prize money) of her nearest rival, Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who enters as the No. 2 seed.

Fallon Sherrock, the inaugural winner in 2022, will be determined to reclaim the crown. Known as the ‘Queen of the Palace’ for her historic performances at Alexandra Palace, Sherrock defeated Aileen de Graaf in the final of the first Women’s World Matchplay and remains a major threat on the big stage.
