Gurney full of praise for Rafferty after superb victory: "For me him and Josh Rock could be the next two Irish World Champions"

Daryl Gurney averaged 105 in easing past stablemate and roommate, Nathan Rafferty who he was full of praise for post match at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest.

"I knew that had to happen against Nathan (Rafferty), we travel together, we practice all day together barring the last 15 minutes. He was practicing better than me so I thought I need a bit of distance.

"It's just seeing if I can get my action right, it'll always half get me there and then it's how much I'm determined. After the first couple of legs, I was really determined.

"I know 6-1 is flattering but if Nathan had played anyone else today, I think Nathan could have beat them. It was an unlucky draw for him. He's world class. For me him and Josh Rock could be the next two Irish World Champions."
