Daryl Gurney is through to back-to-back World Series semi-finals in Australia and New Zealand after victory over home favourite Simon Whitlock to confirm the last four line-up at the Melbourne Darts Masters.
Gurney hit a 94.7 averaged and 8/11 on the doubles as his good form as of late continues. Can 'Superchin' soar to the title in Melbourne today?
He had a brilliant start to proceedings finding an early break against Whitlock to go 3-1 up with a 96 average.
Whitlock though despite only averaging in the early 80's clawed back legs still though going 4-2 behind and then 4-3 after two 180's in a leg and a 62 finish saw him stay in touch.
Three straight legs so him make it parity at 4-4. Gurney though once again took a hold of the tie with a 132 checkout on the bull the turning point.
He broke throw from there to go 6-4 up and hit another clinical checkout in the form of a 110. Gurney finished the tie off from there to set up a semi-final with another in-form player in Rob Cross who of course beat him in their last two televised meetings.
