Berry van Peer continues to underline his status as the best player without a Tour Card as he dominates the Challenge Tour so far this weekend.
The 26-year-old reached the final after wins over Lee Grace (5-0), Kurt Parry (5-4), Dan Read (5-2), Grant Brown (5-2), James Howard Hughes (5-4), Robert Grundy (5-4) and Jelle Klaasen (5-1). Van Peer was then too strong for Scott Mitchell in the final, 5-3.
The Dutchman now has a giant lead on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. He leads the ranking with £11,550 after thirteen out of 24 tournaments. With Christian Kist (£5050) and Chris Landman (£4975) right behind him, the entire top three consists of Dutch players.
On this tour, reserve spots for the Pro Tour 2023 and Tour Cards for 2024 and 2025 can be earned. The highest-placed players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit qualify for the reserve spots on the Players Championships.
