Cameron Menzies has issued a statement saying that he has spoken to Charlie Manby amid his Ally Pally meltdown last week that saw the Scot punch the drinks table three times after losing to the player known as 'Champagne'.
Manby will now face off against Adam Sevada at the PDC World Darts Championship in a top tie on Monday night but prior to the tie, he wished the Huddersfield ace the best of luck and said they have since spoken about the incident and Manby understood that it wasn't anything to do with him.
He threw away a 2-1 lead to lose to the debutant 3-2. The defeat meant a shock exit from the tournament and he left the stage with his hand gushing with blood needing hospital treatment. He also in an act that was caught on video put out a firework using his hand.
Some like Alan Soutar decided to standby his fellow Scot and said that he reached out to him. Others have called for him to get therapy while Fallon Sherrock, his ex-girlfriend appeared to mock the moment during her defeat to Dave Chisnall.
Menzies said that he is on the mend and apologizes again for any hurt that he caused with the moment that went viral over the past week.
"Hi all. Wishing Charlie Manby all the best tonight in his match against Adam Sevada. I have spoken to Charlie personally and apologised to him for my actions. He understood that I was caught up in my own moment of frustration and that it was nothing personal towards him, or his win," said Menzies on Facebook.
"It was very important to speak to him about that, and I am grateful he never once thought I was directing anything at him. A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support, it really means a lot. My hand is on the mend. Sorry again for last week! Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year."
