Henderson was facing William Borland in an all-Scottish clash with the Huntley ace coming out on top in the end in a 6-3 win which saw him hit a 97 average.
This included a brilliant five 180's which was the real difference compared to none from his opponent. Borland himself hit all but one of his doubles which kept him in the contest but it was the Highlander who made it through.
Brown did his World Matchplay hopes the world of good by defeating host nation qualifier Ondrej Plsek in a whitewash win which was capped off with a 92 average.
He hit two 180's with a high checkout of 102 in his 42 percent on the doubles. As a result of this win, he has also knocked Kyle Anderson out of contention for Blackpool.
Finally Gilding continued some form he has shown in spells this year by edging past Rowby-John Rodriguez. 'Goldfinger' averaged 94 and hit a stunning six 180's to move through in a brilliant victory.
