Hendriks on decision not to play online tournaments: “I am a very social person and for me the charm of darts is mainly playing in company”

For the players of the PDC Challenge Tour, it will be until October before tournaments take place again. Jerry Hendriks is ready for the restart.

Hendriks, who works for darts manufacturer BULL'S Germany in addition to darts, is pleased that more is possible.

“During the lockdown I could only work from home via video or telephone, as a representative who normally sees different customers every day, that is of course quite difficult,” said the 31-year-old Dutchman in a vlog of SterkDarts.

During the lockdown, many darts players resorted to various online tournaments. “However, that doesn't mean anything to me,” says Hendriks. “I am a very social person and for me the charm of darts is mainly to throw matches in company. That is why I have also decided not to participate in those online tournaments. ”

What the rest of the year will look like is still unclear to Hendriks. “For players of the Challenge Tour, we have to wait and see if and when we will be allowed to play again this year. In the meantime I play a kind of local competition on Tuesday evening, that's how you keep busy. In addition, I have trained a lot in recent months, so I will certainly be ready when the Tour starts again. ”
