Luke Littler has been joined in not playing the European Darts Trophy this weekend by Stephen Bunting with 'The Bullet' deciding to withdraw from the initial line-up prior to Gottingen this weekend which will take place between March 21-23.
Bunting was in the provisional field originally but he decided to withdraw prior to the Tour Card Holder Qualifier taking place for the tournament. As a result Michael Smith moved into the seeded positions.
Smith plummeted after the World Championship so thus far won't benefit apart from this event from being a seeded player and playing on Saturday onwards like the top names. But he will this week.
Ryan Joyce as a result becomes a ProTour Order of Merit qualifier moving into position. 'Relentless' as a result will face off against Joe Cullen with Dimitri van den Bergh awaiting in the second round. Smith as a result will face off against Ricardo Pietreczko or Daniel Klose.
Aside from those players, Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price among others will in fact play in Germany. Bunting was among those to also miss the ProTour double header earlier in the week so 'The Bullet' will only play Premier League with no darts next week aside.
Perfection.
