The Butlin's Resort in Minehead will be the battleground of the 2024
Players Championship Finals from Friday, November 22 to Sunday, November 24. During this event, participants may split 600,000 pounds in
prize money.
This event is taking place for the sixteenth time. The first edition was in 2009, when a total of 200,000 pounds was made available. Back then, the winner went home with the top prize of 50,000. Meanwhile, the winner of the Players Championship Finals gets more than double that.
After two editions in 2011, the Players Championship Finals moved to Minehead, where it is still held. Until 2015, the field of participants consisted of 32 players, but since 2016 it has expanded to 64 participants. Due to the high number of participants, two stages will be used on the first two days of play. The matches on the main stage will be televised live. The matches on the second stage will be broadcast via a live stream on PDC TV.
All 64 participants in the Players Championship Finals are guaranteed a starting premium of 3,000 pounds. A win in the first round more than doubles that amount to 6,500 pounds. A place in the last sixteen earns ten thousand pounds, followed by 20,000 pounds for a quarterfinal spot.
This rises to £30,000 for the semi-finalists. The finalists will receive £60,000 anyway, with the winner going home with the top prize of £120,000. The prize money won counts toward the world rankings.
In 2023, Luke Humphries took the title at the Players Championship Finals in Minehead. The Englishman won for the first time in Minehead by dealing with Michael van Gerwen (11-9) in the final.
