Heta dumps out close friend Van den Bergh, Bunting seals deciding leg over Lukeman at European Darts Matchplay

Damon Heta has qualified for the quarterfinals of the European Darts Matchplay. 'The Heat' defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh in the last sixteen 6-3.

Van den Bergh took the best start with a 2-0 lead, but at 2-2 it was all over again. With a 13-darter, Heta then broke through the leg Van den Bergh had to start. The next leg was also won by the 34-year-old Australian, who needed two more legs to win at 4-2.

Van den Bergh then held, but so did Heta, who took a 5-3 lead. Van den Bergh failed on his doubles (27.3%) and Heta took advantage of that to eventually win 6-3.

Now against Bunting

In the quarter-finals tonight Heta takes on Stephen Bunting. The Bullet and Martin Lukeman made it a very exciting match. They forced a decider at 5-5. Both players started poorly. But with a 120-finish in the end Bunting showed his class.
