Bringing the Saturday afternoon session at the
Hungarian Darts Trophy to a close,
Damon Heta and
Joe Cullen, both booked their place in round 3 courtesy of wins over Nandor Major and
James Wade respectively.
That last remaining Hungarian in the event, Nandor Major's hopes of securing a famous home win were brought to a crashing halt at the hands of Damon Heta. The Aussie was a comprehensive, whitewash winner over his opponent, easing into Sunday with a 6-0 triumph despite only averaging 88.
Bringing the session to a close, defending champion Joe Cullen took on James Wade in one of the ties of the round. Very uncharacteristically for Wade, the 'Machine' was struggling on the outer ring with his misses allowing Cullen to recover from 2-1 behind to lead 4-2. Although Wade kept himself in contact, he just wasn't able to ever get back level and it was Cullen who took the win 6-4, getting the defence of his title of to a winning start.
