Highest average for Andrew Gilding at Players Championship 20

The 20th Players Championship of the year was won by Luke Littler, who was too strong for Stephen Bunting in the final 8-7. However, the highest average of the day belonged to someone else.
Andrew Gilding more specifically. Goldfinger beat Dutchman Wessel Nijman 6-1 in the last 64 with an average of 114. Gilding hit a nine darter one round later, but still lost 6-3 to eventual winner Luke Littler.
The second highest average came in the name of Michael van Gerwen. 'Mighty Mike' defeated John Henderson 6-1 in the first round, achieving an average of 109.48. Van Gerwen eventually lost at the last 32 6-2 against Cameron Menzies.
Jeffrey de Zwaan threw third highest average during Players Championship 20
The top three highest averages are completed by Jeffrey de Zwaan. Remarkably, that was not enough for the win, as 'The Black Cobra' went down in the first round with heavy 6-1 figures against Menzies. So the Scot later won against Van Gerwen as well, eventually losing 6-4 to Gerwyn Price in the quarterfinals.
So the tournament was won by Littler, yet the 17-year-old does not appear in the top 10 highest averages. We only find him in 12th place with an average of 104.42 during his match at the last 16, which he won 6-2 over Kevin Doets.

- It seems odd that at the World Championship they have dancing ladies in hot pants and pom poms and yet the walk on ladies who were much more elegantly attired get removed from the scene. I met Daniella at Silverstone when she was a grid girl in the F1 race and was very pleasant indeed.
