The 22nd Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Danny Noppert. In an all-Dutch final, he defeated Christian Kist 8-7.
The highest average of the day came in the name of Jim Williams. The Welshman defeated Steve Beaton 6-1 in the first round with an average of 114.13. Williams eventually fell in the last 32 after a 6-5 defeat to Jules van Dongen.
Stephen Bunting achieved the second highest average of the day at 111.11. 'The Bullet' realized that in his 6-2 win at the last 32 against Mike De Decker.
The top three is completed by Gary Anderson with 109.98. However, that averages do not say everything was shown in the quarter-finals, when Anderson lost 6-5 to Michael Smith despite that high average.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
