Highest average for Max Hopp on final day of first phase of European Q-School

The final day of the first phase of the European Q-School was completed Wednesday in Kalkar, Germany.

The highest average of the day came in the name of Max Hopp. The German former PDC Tour Card holder was too strong for Dmitriy Zhukov in the second round with an average of 99.80. Hopp later also reached the last eight and thus secured qualification for the final stage of Q-School, which starts Thursday.

The second highest average was for John Michael. The Greek, also a former PDC Tour Card holder, defeated Michael Unterbuchner 5-1 in the last 128 with a 98.90 average. Michael also made it to the last eight and can now play in the final phase of Q-School.

The top three highest averages were completed by Jaime Nunez Cortes. The Spaniard was too strong in his opening match 5-0 against Alexandre Antunes, achieving 95.13 average. Nunez Cortes eventually lost 5-1 to Jimmy van Schie at the last 64, but finished 62 in the Q-School Order of Merit and thus may also advance to the final stage.
