Home hero Van der Voort dumps out Price, Wade comfortably moves past De Zwaan

Vincent van der Voort has delighted the home crowd at the Dutch Darts Masters by dumping out Gerwyn Price to move through to the Quarter-Finals in Amsterdam.

Van der Voort produced a 6-5 win to join Jermaine Wattimena in the final day at the Ziggo Dome and continue 'The Iceman's poor run of form.

Van der Voort hit a 180 but Price had the impetus only to miscount on 73 but he returned for double eight after the former missed two darts at double four to hold.

Price began his throw with a 180 and left 44 after nine darts before hitting double 10. Van der Voort missing 90 to get his first leg on the board but Price could only pressure as the Dutch Destroyer hit double six and he made it parity at 2-2 on double 18 and the same target to lead 3-2.

‘The Iceman’ stopped a mini rot of sorts with a 60 checkout at 3-3 and broke on double 20 to make it 4-3. He missed an 80 checkout to consolidate and Van der Voort hit back with 102 on double 18.

Price pressured the throw of Van der Voort but the Dutchman went one away with a 64 checkout. Price sent it all the way with a 43 checkout.

But Van der Voort had the throw. He missed 125 on double 12 for the win but returned for double six to seal it.

The same wasn't the case for Jeffrey de Zwaan who despite returning from surgery as of late and not having pain in his shoulder anymore suffered a 6-2 defeat to James Wade.

Both held throw to begin with De Zwaan hitting a 48 checkout to prevent Wade from getting a chance from going 2-0 up. The latter began his throw though with a 180 but he missed an 82 checkout on double 20 only for De Zwaan to miss three darts to break and ‘The Machine’ went 2-1 up.

De Zwaan missed the bull for 124 and Wade picked his pocket on double 10 for a 3-1 lead and the first break of the tie. Only for De Zwaan to hit back immediately at 3-2 down.

De Zwaan missed two darts to hold though and Wade pinned double 20 to break again and make it 4-2. Double 10 was pinned from Wade to go one away at 5-2 with a hold and his strangehold on the tie was complete as he won through 6-2.
